Basic Tips for Finding Research:
- The first step to getting into research is to do your own research! The postings on this page are only for those coincidental available positions that may happen to pop up. Make sure that you take the initiative to do your own research and look up professors and research labs. Email the professors whose labs you're interested in. Don't be afraid to ask!
- Make sure you have a genuine interest in the research! There are so many labs at UCLA, that you are bound to find a research area that you enjoy. Talk to older students for advice (your BMES mentor probably knows a lot about research labs from when they did their own lab search!).
In the meantime, check out these links:
The research positions are not specific to the Bioengineering Department, but it offers research openings for other labs from many different departments that are eligible for SRP credit.

Most departments offer and administer a select number of upper division independent research courses. These courses are considered a “next step” in completing undergraduate research and allow students to receive upper division credit for engaging in more directed and advanced research projects under the supervision of a UCLA instructor.
