BMES BioHack is BMES's annual 48-hour biomedical hackathon, usually held in mid to late Winter quarter. This year, BioHack is from March 6-8, 2026. We are hosting Beginner-friendly workshops, fireside chats, prizes & more! Kickoff begins Friday 3/6 @ 7pm.

This event is for anybody interested in the biotechnology field, regardless of major or background. If you like being creative, designing innovative things, and working with a skilled team, this is the event for you!
Teams of 3 to 5 people work together to address one of three prompts. You have 24 hours to generate a solution to the prompt of your choice, along with designing and building out innovative ideas. Participants also have the opportunity to attend various workshops throughout the weekend, ranging from technical skill building (Arduino, Git, data analysis, etc.) to interacting with corporate sponsors and special guests! At the end of the hackathon, teams will present their projects to a panel of esteemed judges to win prizes.
